When we was approached by Endemol to provide live streaming of several Manchester City football matches, there was of course much excitement at our offices. This was however coupled with an acute realisation that it would have to be perfect so as not to disappoint the vast number of fans. Luckily our facility in London is well equipped for just such an occasion and the event drew in the crowds, on line and in stadium.
When Webtel.mobi launched its service at the end of 2009, the company decided to do so in style. They staged the World’s first intercontinental crossing by Jet-Wing. If that wasn’t challenging enough, they decided to stream the whole event live via the Internet, which was no mean feat and one which required the expertise of our teleport and encode facility in London.
We provided Montagne TV’s live stream using Channel Stream. The feed is taken from Montagne TV in France and transcoded into multiple Web formats at our specialist facility in the heart of London, then streamed live via our Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to Montagne TV’s dedicated website and large screen displays.
Dedicated live contribution satellite feeds from LA, California were received via fibre from USA to UK, multi-encoded to various streaming profiles and delivered live to thousands of on-line viewers. Additional live commentary was added in London in 6 extra languages, raising the profile and reach of the global event.
